Whiskey Sour

Hello folks, and a happy Thirsty Thursday to you!

Drink:

Recipe:

2 oz Blended Whiskey
Juice of 1 to 2 Lemons
1/2 tsp Powdered Sugar
1 Cherry
1 to 2 slices of Lemon

Shake blended whiskey, juice of lemon, and powdered sugar with ice and strain into a whiskey sour glass. Decorate with the half-slice of lemon, top with the cherry, and serve.

Description:

Let me be clear on one thing: This is my favorite drink of all time. Seriously, the whiskey sour is a delicious beverage. If there is a Heaven, this is what they would serve.

Variants:

Sour Mix Variant: replace the lemon, sugar and cherry with some sour mix. This is actually what you are going to get most places when you order a whiskey sour, and it isn't bad. Easier to mix, and generally cheaper then getting all the ingredients together for the real deal, it isn't a bad substitute.

Its kind of like the store brand cola to the real thing's coke.

Boston Sour Variant: Add a dash of egg white. Certainly a strange variant, and it has many fans. All I have to say on it is this:

Get fucked Boston.
False Whiskey Sour: This sucker is a whole new recipe, and I am not sure how it got associated with the whiskey sour.

2 bottles of Beer
2 cans frozen Lemonade Concentrate
1 fifth Whiskey
1 scoop Ice

Always use equal parts beer, whiskey, and frozen lemonade. Thaw and pour the lemonade concentrate into a pitcher, then fill up the cans with the whiskey and mix into the pitcher. Gently fill the cans with the beer, avoiding too much foam, and mix into the pitcher. Add the ice and stir.

Basically, this is a frat party drink. So, if you want to throw a sick party over at Phi Kappa Douche-bag then make sure to include this particular affront to the pallet. Have fun besmirching the good name of the whiskey sour, jackass.

  1. My personal favorite is the new york sour, which exactly like a whiskey sour, except that you float red wine on top.
