Fridgecar

Desire:
To compete in an annual charity soap box derby's custom built car race.

Idea:

Me and a couple of other guys had the day before the race free, so we thought we could throw something together then.

Seemed good because:

We had an old busted fridge lying around and some time on our hands. Seemed reasonable to make a car out of it.

Actually terrible because:

At a school where 70% of the students major in mechanical engineering, the team constructing fridgecar consisted of 3 computer scientists and a business major. Really shouldn't have been surprised when this happened:

Moral of the story:

When constructing a vehicle you are going to send hurtling down a hill, consider spending more then a day having folks with no expertise in the field bolt wheels on an old fridge.
